Its a real mixed bag with no connecting threads. However there are real joys to be had and some really great sequences. There is definitely a level of realism that feels quite fresh, my only regret was that some of the stories were a little underdeveloped.
Still this is the Coen Brothers- so you are liable to see something different every time.
