Review of The Bad Seed (1956) by Lady S — 19 Aug 2009
'The Bad Seed' is a chilling classic thriller that has held up pretty well. Amazing performances by Nancy Kelly, Eileen Heckart, and especially young Patty McCormack who really surprised me. One second she played the perfect angel child.
The next she was murdering people. Excellent build up, but a smidge too long. I really enjoyed this thriller and I don't understand why more people have not seen it. The biggest complaint I have is that it was way too theatrical.
At times I felt like I was watching the play instead of the movie.
