I have never seen a child performance as chilling and convincing as Patty McCormack's. Unfortunately the film doesn't really stand up to it. It feels like a play, with characters entering and exiting the same set, saying really overblown and theatrical lines.
The ending is really bad as well. It goes on 20 minutes after the fake ending which should have been the first one.
