Review of The Bad Batch (2017) by Forest D — 17 Jun 2017
After watching "A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night," I had incredible hopes for this movie. It falls flat on many occasions. The first sequence is engaging but the story then slows. The music is amazing, but does near to nothing for the scenes.
There is not a score for this movie, but instead a boombox playing in the background. Ultimately, the best parts of this movie are from the small performances from the actors we know can already act, and a beautiful Texas landscape, which is still even messed up by adding a Saguora Cactus.
The visual storytelling works well for Ms. Amirpour, but only if the story is engaging enough to keep peoples attentions. If the mind wonders off during this movie it seems to tell the same story, one of boredom.
