I get strong-armed into seeing romantic comedies often by my aggressively girly older sister and my equally agressively girly younger sisters. Judging by my taste in film, you might see why I get along more with my brothers. Lately, I've been putting my foot down more and more, but I was forced into this one and boy did I hate it. They say that Jennifer Lopez gave it her all, but she didn't. I will make an example of this film and use this review to show how much I hate romantic comedies.

Jennifer Lopez plays Zoe, a typical dumbass romantic-comedy heroine who wants the three basic romantic comedy goals. Namely:

- land a man.

- get married.

- have a kid.

She can't seem to accomplish the first two, so she decides to have artificial insemination and give up on landing a man and getting married. That very day, not hours after she "gets the job done", she meets Stan (played by that guy from the new Hawaii Five-O) and they hate eachother on sight. That very moment takes away all the surprise from the movie and you automatically know that they are going to get angry at each other, sit and stew, and make up just as an important sub-event in the movie is happening (in this, Zoe's grandmother's wedding). Couple all of this with pregnancy hormones and you get implausible "hilarity". As you can see, this movie is incredibly cliched and is accompanied with a pointless childbirth scene (not of Jennifer Lopez) which was easily the worst scene in the movie. But I suppose it has its passable moments, just not enough of them to be considered a good movie.

Aside from a few passable moments, the rest of the movie is absolutely terrible. The acting is terrible, the only good actor being Linda Lavin as Zoe's grandmother. Seriously, she was the only one of the actors in the movie that was good. The jokes are pretty stale, and the plot was just preposterous. Like I said, implausible so-called hilarity!

The people I saw this with (namely my evil sisters) loved it, but I hated it and I'm still thinking of a way to get back at them. This movie was so bland and it left such a hateful impact on me that I fear saying more will start me on a descent into madness, so I'll just finish this review. This is a terrible terrible movie that should not be viewed by human eyes again. Every DVD copy of this should be rounded up and burnt so they don't have to torture us anymore. All in all, just shit.
