Review of The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer (1947) by Blake P — 24 Jul 2011
Myrna Loy and Cary Grant with a little bit of Shirley Temple and Rudy Vallee? What could go wrong? Well, I don't really know what did, but there's a lot of empty space in this film that could have been filled with jokes.
Grant is funny whenever he's mugging to the camera or acting befuddled, but Loy has hardly anything interesting to do and Shirley Temple is annoying (by virtue of her part in the movie) for almost the whole time she's on-screen.
It was okay... at best.
