Review of The Babysitters (2008) by Dan M — 01 Feb 2011
Surprisingly deep and dark. Yes, this is serious subject matter, but Ross makes no bones about the consequences for all involved. A film should be judged on its ability to tell its story, and this does it well.
It is explicit, yes, but not gratuitous. It takes a cultural and social reality (men cheating on their wives with the babysitter) and pushes it into fairytale territory, except that here there's no happy ending.
