Review of The Baby of Mâcon (1993) by Jacob F — 20 Oct 2007
While its not the most disturbing film I've ever seen, this is up there. It is a purposefully sick film. A fiery condemnation of everyone, even the audience, who is complicit in social corruption and (implicitly sexual) exploitation.
While it appears to be inspired by Brecht, this is far more closer to Artaud. This is cruelty. That said this would be far more effective as a play. And the film is far too heavy handed in terms of who it is damning.
