Review of The Babadook (2014) by Michael H — 05 Jun 2015
The best horror movie of the decade, hands-down. Babadook's gift is that it is fully capable of terrifying even the most rational minds. Why? Because it plays on real, everyday fears. The entire monster is metaphorical and therefore exponentially more terrifying.
There are no jump scares, but the whole thing is just downright unsettling. Not to mention the drama is quite splendid, it works beautifully as a psychological thriller.
