Review of The Babadook (2014) by Brian S — 22 Sep 2016
I suppose I missed the time-hype-train around this film because I found this to be underwhelming. The film suffers pacing issues and leaves too many open ends. Upon viewing this with my wife we audibly laughed at some sequences and became utterly confused when the flick was over.
What am I missing? I get the maternal fear, the supposed blurred lines of reality and fantasy, and the "scary sequences." I just don't understand the amazing rating.
