Review of The Babadook (2014) by Allison K — 30 Oct 2015
The Babadook is simply one of the greatest modern horror films of the time and one of the scariest films I have seen in decades. we have a moving story present here, with some truly frightening moments and a very clever metaphor going on here with the Babadook character.
I won't get into it as much, to avoid spoiling anything, but, it pulled off a very clever double meaning with the character. Essie Davis gives one if he best performances I've seen in a long time, and the directing by Jennifer Kent is outstanding, what a real talent we have here.
it's just so well shot and executed. I remember truly feeling terrified watching this film, with my nails digging into the arm rest and me literally on the edge of my seat. I really can't express how great The Babadook is and what it did for modern horror films here.
one of the best horror films I've ever seen and definitely one of the most frightening.
