Review of The Awful Truth (1937) by Erin V — 16 Jan 2008
After years of drifting playing somewhat forgettable pretty-boys, this screwball comedy finally gives Cary Grant the opportunity to become, well, Carey Grant. This film is a dazzling display of wit, wry asides, the cutest little putdowns, setups, awkward moments and situations.
Irene Dunne is utterly charming, and her costumes are exquisite.
