Review of The Awful Truth (1937) by Dave H — 21 Oct 2013
One of the best screwball comedies of the era, but not quite as sharp and zing-worthy or featuring such stellar support as three of Mr. Grant's eternal classics (Friday, Philly, Baby) from the time.
Still there's absolutely nothing wrong with this, it's so light and frothy it could almost float away. But light and frothy ain't a bad thing. Dunne and Grant define charming, and the dog absolutely rocks!!! (Of course, what dog doesn't).
