Review of The Awful Truth (1937) by Jessica H — 17 Jan 2008
Classic hollywood certainly loved their divorce comedies. the awful truth could have easily fallen by the wayside, discarded as trash with the rest of those. however, the undeniable comic chemistry between carey grant and irene dunne makes this picture more enjoyable than most.
add to that lavish, sparkingly costume and sharp, witty dialogue, and you've got yourself a stand-out comedy.
