Review of The Awful Truth (1937) by Neil K — 28 Feb 2008
Absolutely charming. With this one film, Cary Grant set the standard for his future works and became a cultural icon. Brilliantly written & flawlessly executed by all. If there's a weak spot, it's in the several small musical sequences (but, in all fairness, it takes a lot to get me to buy into such a scene).
Recommended.
