Review of The Awakening (2011) by Anthony V — 27 Apr 2012
Mallory: "There have been other sightings. The boys believe..".
Cathcart: "Boys believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. I'm sure some of them even believe in God.".
There will come a time in your life when you question the things that you perceive.. Are they factual, or just a figment of your imagination.. "The Awakening" plays on those ideas and gives us a fine compelling post-war ghost story. The setting is so uncanny that every turn, somehow makes you prying for the jumpshock. The direction is fast-paced considering movies like these. It's a shocker! The Performances are pretty strapping specially Rebecca Hall. She's phenomenal! Overall, a pretty good post-war ghost story that has something to proffer. On the same level with, Sixth Sense and The Others. 4 out of 5 stars! :).
