Review of The Awakening (2011) by Ray B — 14 Jun 2013
One of the rare ghost stories that is fun to watch. Set in early 20th century in the English country side, the visuals alone are worth the ticket price. Followed with very good acting and a ghost story that isn't about "jump scares" though there are a few.
I mean this is a horror movie in which there is an imposing character development. A great atmospheric score. But this is no action ghost story. It takes its sweet sweet time to dole out it's plot of an expert paranormal de-bunker living with her own "ghosts".
