Review of The Awakening (2010) by Kussai N — 20 Apr 2013
Perfect performances from Rebecca Hall and Imelda Staunton can't save this rather grim tale. It starts well with a few jumpy moments but gets increasingly silly as it goes on. Even I spotted the obvious, and I can't believe anyone can suspend their disbelief from a long enough thread to swallow the absurd central relevation.
As for the ending, did anyone understand what was going on there? Could have been great, sadly isn't.
