Review of The Aviator (2004) by Kevin R — 19 Sep 2015
Fastest man on the planet.
Howard Hughes comes from a rich family in Houston, Texas who became rich during the oil boom by making drill bits. He has used these fortunes in hopes of making movies like no one has ever seen and launching an airplane company with planes like there has never been built. The airline business is very fast and corrupt and so is Hughes' life; dealing with the movies, airlines, and fast paced Hollywood starlet lifestyle. Can one man conqueror all these landscapes and change the world in the process?
"I got a tiger by the tail here. I ain't going to let it go.".
Martin Scorsese, director of Taxi Driver, The Departed, Raging Bill, Good Fellas, Shutter Island, Gangs of New York, Casino, and Mean Streets, delivers the Aviator. The storyline for this picture is outstanding and a brilliant display of the unique nature of geniuses. The writing, script, and acting was remarkable and everything from the costumes to settings was perfect. The cast is awesome and includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, Jude Law, Gwen Stafani, Danny Huston, Alan Alda, and Adam Scott.
"We're not like everyone else.".
This is another film I was ashamed I had never seen and recently came across on Netflix. This is a masterpiece. Aviator is absolute perfection that I now must purchase and will definitely watch again. It made me go back and read everything I could find on Howard Hughes...and I was so impressed. I adored this movie, I adore Howard Hughes, and I strongly recommend purchasing this.
"He can kiss both sides of my ass.".
Grade: A+.
