Showing hints of bi-polar from the start, DiCaprio gives a memorable performance. Another strong Scorsese period pic - with particular interest shown in Hughes' relationship to Kate Hepburn who is adequately portrayed by Blanchett.
Another comic actor (Alda) gives a strong bad-guy performance.
