The Avengers is about exactly what I expected it to be. A very well done superhero movie. It's by no means going to be nominated for any awards, but it was the perfect Friday night guilty pleasure. I went to see it with my 10 year old son.
Even though I read the comics, and he didn't, he knew more about the characters than I did. I blame video games.
