Returning to this film as "Ultron" looms, the original "Avengers" is grossly overrated. Wasting the dramatic potential of Loki, the film lacks any true sense of stakes/danger/tension, and is an enjoyable whiz-bang actioner for its runtime, but there really isn't any compelling reason to revisit this film in thought or deed.
