Review of The Avengers (1998) by Josh J — 02 Oct 2009
On paper, this movie might have been interesting since Ralph Fiennes is a good actor, Uma Thurman being all Fanservicey is awesome and Sean Connery is the evil James Bond-like villain. What could possibly go wrong?
Everything damn thing in this movie! Ralph Fiennes is boring, Uma Thurman has an atrocious British Accent that gets in the way of her Fan Service ways and Connery is actually trying to act over-the-top instead of letting his natural awesomeness do all the work like every other time when his performances didn't suck. The chemistry between Fiennes and Thurman is non-existent and painful. The only time Eddie Izzard actually speaks is obviously dubbed in and those who can't tell that's it's dubbed is either stupid or deaf. This movie sucks and anyone who likes it sucks!
And this movie is lucky that I never saw the series or who knows how my high my hate would've been.
