Review of The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) by Robby K — 27 Jan 2017
"The Autopsy of Jane Doe" has so much potential from it's original premise, to it's in depth gruesome look into an actual autopsy, to an interesting twist near the half way mark. It's just a shame that soon after that it falls flat both in scares and depth.
If it dove into the "mythology" of what we see late in the film, from the very beginning it would have been able to set up a lot better than it did. Brian Cox is good as the dad character, but Emile Hirsch is uninteresting and Ophelia Lovibond is only here to (SPOILER ALERT) ------------------------------------------------- Die later on.
----------------------------------------------- (END SPOILER ALERT) It's a fine indy-horror film, but it could have been much more.
