Review of The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) by Mark M — 04 Jul 2017
After gaining my attention through a largely original take on the genre I now find myself in a state of meh. The film to start with was engrossing and suspenseful however petered (get it) out to be just another average horror film, even with Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox doing their best to carry the lazy cliched mess. I can't help thinking had the film continued on the creepy trend it had done so well to build up it could have been a brilliant film.
Also may I say how sloppy the whole deceased wife conversations were. The helped to add very little, if anything I would have included the whole cat scenario after the wife's demise had been spoken about in greater detail. This, in my opinion, would have added to the viewers emotional connection with the main characters.
