Review of The Attack (2012) by Ross W — 09 Aug 2013
I am not a movie critic, but I have seen a lot of movies both domestic and foreign and this is a great movie. Despite what some might say, this is not a movie about madness. It is, above all, a movie about love and hate: a love of self and a hatred of oppression.
I loved this movie, and the Sihman character I adore. As an American who fought in Vietnam, I understand her sacrifice. We are forever sending our children, and a 18-year-old is a child, on suicide missions--all in the name of democracy, and we call them heroes.
My wife, like many Americans, does not understand, but I do. When our bombs blow up a wedding in Afghanistan, our government tells us that it is collateral damage, and we continue to cook our breakfast and believe.
This is a great movie with great characters--you should see it.
