Review of The Astronaut Farmer (2007) by Eddie K — 03 Feb 2008
I found The Astronaut Farmer to be a thoughtful and sweet movie about a small-town family. But the side-story going on about the rocket and all that adds some delightful side-humour. As I often say about movies, don't expect realism.
Think of the whole rocket-thing as more of a metaphor than something that could actually ever happen. The most memorable parts of the film are the conversations and the interaction between characters.
There's much more humour included in this drama than most dramas contain, which makes it a winner with me. The farmer is an engineer, a dreamer, and a bit of a philosopher, but I see some flaws in him also.
What kind of flaws? Watch the movie and find out!
