Review of The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004) by Mathias K — 29 Sep 2007
Interesting movie. Sean Penn really does a fantastic effort in his role as a man slowly going insane and attempting to assassinate Richard Nixon. The movie is interesting because the reasons he is going insane is because he fights a system he doesn't believe in, and the sad thing is that he is quite right about most of his beliefs.
In order to fit in to the society, you need to accept that you are getting screwed every day, the rich get richer, the poor are stepped on, and you cant do anything about these unfair things in life. The attempted assassination of Nixon, the greatest salesman (read: liar) of all times (similar to George W Bush?) is a symbolic act to show the People With Power that even a small grain of sand can do something on the great big beach we call America.
