Review of The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004) by Lee A — 06 Dec 2007
A bleak meditation on the hollowness of 'the American Dream'. Quite clearly influenced by "Taxi Driver", this film boasts a startling performance from Sean Penn, who conveys frustrated alienation and misplaced idealism in his character of Sam Bicke.
This is a gradually developing character peice, and an excellent film.
