Review of The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004) by James M — 10 Sep 2006
This film came as a pleasant surprise. Back in 2004, I didn't really here much about it except that is was out. A couple of days ago, I stumbled upon it in our library. After viewing it, I can't understand why there was no buzz.
It is certainly one of the best films of 2004 and Sean Penn gives another superb performance only 2nd to Cheadle's in Hotel Rwanda that year. The story is heartbreaking and thought-provoking. The supporting cast is excellent, but again, it is Penn who shines.
I would have liked to have seen this film receive more attention, but all is not lost! Word of mouth!
