Review of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) by Blake H — 04 Jun 2010
I watched this movie around the time it first came out, and was just blown away. The cinematography, acting, and story of this film make it a hidden jewel among limited release films. I just recently purchased it on Blu-ray, and believe me, it was worth it. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is Brad Pitt's best performance. Casey Affleck, and Sam Rockwell also take their roles and smash them out of the park, but nothing like Pitt. The narration and the small changes of camera filters, adds to the feeling that you are being told this long forgotten story.
All in all, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, is a movie that I would highly recommend to anyone who considers themselves an avid movie goer, or anyone who can appreciate a beautiful film.
