Review of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) by Jeff B — 23 Oct 2010
Overly long and boring for the most part, but filled with tremendously nuanced characters (and performances) all the same. That seems a bit contradictory at first glance, but I felt these characters were all interesting I just wish they were doing something interesting in the film.
The assassination scene itself is excellent and the scenes leading up to it, with Jesse opening up to Robert Ford and basically offering him his life. Also, the cinematography was excellent.
