Review of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) by Millo T — 13 Sep 2012
The movie, accompanied by a master soundtrack, describes in an elegant, melancholic and even poetical way psychological processes as paranoia conducted to auto-destruction, weight of betrayal, and how fan admiration becomes "death of the father".
Although very well done, the slow-paced rhythm is not only too much slow (it looks it takes years to make what it could be solved in days), but it also makes it too long in absolute terms. Also good as a description of historical facts and to vindicate the figure of "the other man", although the misteries about the death continue unsolved for me.
