Review of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) by Rhys G — 17 Dec 2012
Slow burning, tense, brilliantly shot, and uniquely told, Jesse James is certainly a film for cinephiles and those with an appreciation of film form and character. Pitt is good, but Affleck, with this eerie charm and great embodiment of character, really shines.
Deakins' cinematography and Dominik's direction work together like magic.
