The figure of the outlaw Jesse James is seen in a romanticised outlook and as the beginning of the American celebrity culture. Though the film's excessive length of almost three hours is a little testing, the outlook of the film is wonderful, thanks to the expressive lighting and meticulous photography and art direction.
