Review of The Asphalt Jungle (1950) by Bonnie M — 06 Feb 2007
John Huston's look at underworld crime. The wicked, the smart, the dimwitted, the very rich, the depressed. They are all here. We do not envy these people, as Huston himself stated, but we are fascinated by them.
Their motives, desires, and vices are all explored to the great entertainment and love of the viewer. We see why each ultimately fails and why in the end crime never pays.
