Review of The Asphalt Jungle (1950) by Zach J — 07 Jul 2007
One of the staples of any film noir fan and one of the key movies of that genre in American cinema. John Huston brilliant portrays an intriquing and gritty world of crime. Filled with wonderfully crafted characters and a plot that is tight and packed with details the film is also a semi-romantic look through realism eyes.
There are no villains, only anti-heroes and the characters are only undone by their own individual weaknesses. A seminal movie in crime caper cinema....
