Review of The Asphalt Jungle (1950) by Matt B — 14 Oct 2007
Amazingly gritty crime drama for MGM in 1950. Huston's masterful direction is apparent in every frame, along with great performances (especially Sterling Hayden, Louis Calhern and Sam Jaffe). Rightfully regarded as one of the seminal "film noir" pictures.
Special mention should be made of the memorable and effective score.
