Review of The Asphalt Jungle (1950) by Vidal H — 14 Jul 2008
To date, my favorite film noir. Every character is beautifully developed, with a good side and a bad side, a sensitive side and a heartless side. The acting is excellent, though Marilyn Monroe does leave a bit to be desired but she works out fine all the same.
The story is great, though slightly worn from many years of similar-themed films, and the dialogue is among my favorite in a film ever. Simply superb.
