Review of The Artist (2011) by Phillip G — 02 Dec 2013
Thoroughly pleasing and tongue-in-cheek glimpse into the death of silent films and the birth of talkies. The style of the film is very cinematic and there are lots of "OOH" moments to be had.
Jean Dujardin is great at both embodying the acting style of the silent film era, and also showing his frustration with the monumental changes to his career. It's not the most exciting film in the world, but I can easily see why the Academy ate it up.
