Review of The Artist (2011) by Gerald D — 06 Dec 2012
This was a great movie for what it is. A stylish silent film. The acting is fabulous.Dujardin does a great silent film star mugging to the camera in all his scenes and also shows how distraught he gets when his silent film star career falls away thanks to his stubborness about evolving into a talking picture star.
Bejo is loveable from the start and make a great muse and star of the silent film and talkie pictures. Supporting cast are grea too. A big shout out to the dog in the movie. He is a scene stealer and an essential part of the movie.
It was a little bit depressing for a good chunk of the movie. Soem of the preview led me to believe that is would be more rosey than it was. But still a great film.
