Really different night out at the movies. Totally enjoyable flick about the arrival of the 'talkies'. It reminds us that every time there's a new technological advancement, there's a tragedy left behind.
The silent movie star is magnetic and charming, and you feel every moment of his horrible downfall. It's a charming picture, and smart at every junction of the plot. The dog is ADORABLE.
