Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy a film and "The Artist" did just that. It is kind of neat to watch a silent film and see how that time period would shape the movie industry forever.
On top of the historical events, the story between George and Peppy is a delightful one and you are cheering for them to be together by the end. I was hating on this and wondered why it won for Best Picture but now I can see why.
It is very original and has great performances throughout it entirety.
