Review of The Artist (2011) by Nathan R — 26 Jan 2013
The Artist comes as near to flawless as a film can. This really does accomplish everything a contemporary audience wants from it: prodigious style, respectful homage, poignant narrative and a happy, yet believable resolution.
It blends the current "dark", or cynical, trend with the classical hollywood narrative. Then, it punches cynicism in the fucking gut because that shit is getting old.
