Review of The Artist (2011) by Trevor C — 11 Feb 2013
A thoroughly enjoyable movie! Took a few minutes to get into the "silent movie" mode but after that it was uphill all the way.
The Artist features two outstanding lead performances set in a gorgeous period landscape. It is beautiful and fitting tribute to the art of movie making. The silent movie approach never feels gimmicky but rather forces the viewer to engage with the characters emotions even more. Go see it to appreciate how a movie can transport you back to a different era and experience just how magical a movie can be.
