Review of The Artist (2011) by Irene C — 17 May 2013
In a Hollywood where 3D blockbusters and found footage films like it was posted on YouTube, reign by this years; a very lovely and crowd pleasing tribute about the silent cinema is that we need in these years.
"The Artist" its a spectacular achievement in film that is very successfully made in all the aspects: the soulful and original plot (not forget to mention the clever love story) about the advent of the talkies movies will sound the death knell for Valentin's career and see him fall into oblivion, Miller as a major movie stardom awaits in the talked-cinema and how the destiny unify their lives forever, ending in a compelling romance.
The style who was made and it's cinematography is impeccably mounted that that makes the film unique to offer more that the enough the nostalgic of the movies of the 20's. With a witty direction (and a wisely chosen game of musical themes according to the situations) and script by Hazanavicius and the magnificent stellar of Dujardin with Bejo and a selected casting, including a talented supporting cast.
"The Artist" is a marvelous movie that brings with a clever and joyous way a tribute of silent cinema.
