Review of The Artist (2011) by Ken S — 07 Aug 2013
A silent black and white film shot in 4:3 aspect ratio made in 2011? What are the odds this would've been as successful as it was. Not just critically and award-wise, but also commercially. It is a silent film about the end of the silent era, and how talkies came in and changed the game and affected a lot of big names of the silent era.
I like the history of cinema, and I think that played a big part in my enjoyment of the film, so I don't really know how this plays to others. It is pretty good though.
