Review of The Artist (2011) by Ryan Z — 05 Jun 2015
Michel Hazanavicius and The Artist tells a story of love, loss, and fame without using dialogue. Being a silent film, the leads in the movie use their movements and emotions, accompanied by a fantastic Ludovic Bource score, to tell the wonderful story of a rising starlet and falling star in 1920s Hollywood.
Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo have such an extravagant on-screen chemistry, that is accompanied by a great supporting cast including John Goodman and James Cromwell. The Artist is an emotional and moving film that shows how beautiful the cinema can be.
