Review of The Artist (2011) by Hari A — 09 Jul 2014
Jean Dujardin's smile and Berenice Bejo's antics make this film what it is. A legend. A tribute to the silent cinema era, the movie manages to bring forth the nostalgia of the old times however still keeping the whole premise fresh. Never a dull moment in the whole show. The way Dujardin is showcased as the unchallenged king of the movie business in the silent era, and with the ingress of talking pictures the whole plot changes and thanks to his pride, gyrates Dujardin into rags.
That George Valentin smile and the enthusiasm!! Brilliant.
