Review of The Art of the Steal (2010) by Katherine F — 19 Feb 2011
I was blown away by the film, The Art of the Steal. My passion for art and education were bruised by the greed on the part of Philadelphia's elite and politicians which can be one and the same. Shame on them and the citizens of Philadelphia if they allow a new building to open or even move The Barnes Collection from its original location.
I was moved to tears that Dr. Barnes' legacy to educate and bring beauty to the community and to art students far and wide would be destroyed in such a deceiving and malicious manner. All of the people involved should be brought up on charges, fined heavily (like take away a few million from their personal accounts), and have their names removed from all public records because they do not deserve the respect they demand in the name of the "public interest.
" The public, knowing the full story, would demand that a will or trust be sacrosanct. I will never visit the new location if built.
